30K Treshold Crossed

DYYO today revealed that there are only 29.990 4 letter . com left. Registrations crossed the 30k threshold! The 30,000 threshold has been crossed before. That it dropped below 30k could be due to traffic testing.

The the 8% threshold has been crossed without traffic testing (~36560). Traffic testing has reduced in recent weeks. LLLL.com seems to have a bright future. The concern now is that finding good LLLL.com for reg fee is a lot harder than it used to be. It seems like the gems are falling out of the market.

Today it is impossible to hand register a 4 letter . com with solely quality letters. Only bad quality letters are remaining, J,K,Q,U,V,W,X,Y,Z. The wise and with better knowledge argue which letters are less bad. Personally I pick V, X, U and Z as the less bad. I like V because it can be used for Virtual, X for extreme or extra, U for united or universal and Z for zone or zoom. Z is also very frequent in the german language.

As of today, 3870 remaining names starting with V. 2377 remaining names starting with X. 2830 remaining names starting with U. 2508 remaining names starting with Z. 4235 remaining names starting with with Q. Happy hunting!

They are far less rare, and all of them haven't been registered. There are still THOUSANDS available. If you get a nonsense 4 letter domain, you could easily find one that is free to register for $6. Unless there is a 4 letter domain that someone really, really wants, it's only worth about $10. They are obviously worth a whole lot more if the 4 letters spell a real word, or at least stand for something real (something where people know what the letters mean, not something you made up, like DFIG, Domain Forums Is Good).
